Joep Franssens’s Harmony of the Spheres is a large-scale choral work for eight-part mixed choir, inspired by the philosophy of Baruch Spinoza and the ancient idea of the musica universalis — the “music of the spheres.” The piece unfolds in five movements, each exploring a different facet of spiritual and sonic unity.

The first movement sets the tone for the entire work. It establishes the meditative, luminous atmosphere that characterizes Franssens’s style — a blend of minimalism, mysticism, and tonal radiance.
