These four piano pieces were indeed composed in different millennia, two prior to "Y2K" and two following. Despite the chronological over which they were created, the pieces share motivic and stylistic traits.

Among these four pieces, written in the timespan of over a quarter-century and straddling two millennia, there exists a recurring structural tool and motivic device: that of perfect fourth intervals (and their reciprocal inversions) stacked melodically, harmonically, and in various forms of suspended chords.
