A movement from the cantata “Crimson Stain”. This music is ideal for Remembrance and Memorial Day services. The Battle of Passendale occurred one century ago. Trench warfare was a nightmare of epic proportions. Nickel’s music considers what was gained and what was lost - with compassion, gratitude, cynicism, anger, despair and hope.
